Does anyone else suffer from hay fever, I do big time but the little tablets don't work for me any more anyone have a remedy? even if it is just an old wives tale I will give it a bash!

My nan gave me a big blue tablet it just made everything go funny...

Try putting bees up your nostrils. The bees will collect pollen and stop it irritating you (also its body will block a lot). If you are worried about them stinging, dont be! the swelling it would cause would stop even more pollen.

More seriously and perhaps more ironically I have heard eating honey helps (also onions, which you may want to avoid).

I do, and this is being a tough year. It has been quite rainy here during the spring, and when the heat came, grasses exploded. Everytime i go out of my house the sneezing, the crying and the swelling starts xD I also get quite strong dermographism (which combined with the constant itching makes for a spectacular display of red shapes all over my body xD)
I wish i had a remedy...but i pretty much just suffer through it, or take the antihistamines (mind you, i try not to cause they make me terribly sleepy).

For some reason i find that drinking frequently and being well hydrated makes it a bit better for me. You could give that a try. There´s also a secret Dutch herbal treatment, but i´m sworn to secrecy...

Aaaaaaaaaah, I think you have solved my problem I also get this skin irritations I thought it was eczema! antihistamines are a big no no for me at work.

Are you telling me onions can increase hay fever? I hope not I always eat onion

Hey Duque, try a good brand of shark cartilage. It works for me.

No the opposite.
Quercetin is "rumoured" to reduce the effects of hay fever, Onions contain a lot of it apparently.

I eat onion every day I should be smacking that pollen down, I may make an onion cape and travel the globe saving hay fever sufferers

I don't know if anyone would go near you due to the smell and crying.
Maybe live in an onion field?

Have you exhausted all the standard pills and remedies? Loratadine is a non sedating antihistamine cheap generic £1 for 14 at Sainsburys, twice that at Morrisons. The old fashioned ones do knock me out. The steroid nasal sprays also help.

I'm also asthmatic and find exhaling both steroid and reliever inhaler through my nose after I've inhaled them helps a lot.

Getting away to the seaside with an onshore breeze is the most effective remedy I've found but it is not very practical!

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
