Hey!
I've had my beautiful little Arlo (~4 month old axolotl) without substrate for the whole month and a half that I've owned him, but now I am looking to some sand options for him now that he's getting big enough and my confidence in taking care of a sand-substrated aquarium has increased since I tried sand in my nano aquarium
With him being a leucistic axolotl, I thought that black sand would make him really stand out in his tank versus a tan that could take away from his appearance. I saw that some may potentially be hazardous, and those aquariums that are safe with photos of black sand don't seem to say which type of sand they used.
I know they sell Imagitarium sand at pretty much every lfs around me, so I was curious if anyone has tried and had luck with them? I'd obviously be opting for the black Imagitarium sand and would keep at in inch thick or less.
tldr: Have any of you tried Imagitarium black sand and what was your result?
Thanks!
