Hanging out on top of fake plants

Hey everyone.
My axie is about 8 inches, and he keeps swimming up and sitting on top of the fake plants in his tank. His gills aren't curled or anything i mean it seems like he just likes to sit up there. It makes me a little nervous though. The plants are a little sharp. He's never cut himself on them before but I'm nervous nonetheless. I was considering getting a turtle pier or one of those beta beds for him to lay on higher in the tank. Any advice on decorations that would work for this/Is his behavior a problem?

Some axies just like to hang out sitting in plants. Nothing to worry about - 6 of mine are doing it right now.
And I've never seen an axie injured by plastic plants.

Mine managed it, took a nasty tear from his tail - but they were pretty cheap ones and a mistake in hindsight.

He took a scare and shot off through them. (And what scared him? The fact that he'd missed the worm I dropped, trod on it and then It MOVED! :errr

Hm. My plants were all pretty cheap, but I haven't moved them out. He seems to be okay, but I think I will start looking out for other things for him to sit on. Thanks guys!
