I was wondering if it is usual for some axolotl young to be very slow developers. I have one baby that is 4 months old and doesn't seem much larger than when it hatched. It eats baby crickets, whiteworms and fish pellets but doesn't seem in any hurry to grow up. I have included a photo of one of its brothers/sisters born at the same time to show the difference in size. I guess some breeders would cull it but I don't have the heart. At least if it was a little bit larger it would be much easier to feed.

Regards Neil

Some do take longer than others to grow.

I tend to have a lot of size differences.
He looks perfectly normal (I had a slow growing one that was a bit deformed he's only grown to about 6 inch, he wont get any bigger) I dont see why he wont thrive into a normal sized axolotl. Try giving him some earthworm to get him growing.
