Here are some shots of an unusual colored green looking fire belied salamander from Kii Peninsula. These animals still have the size of approx a Cynops orientalis and are now 8 years old.

Beautiful animals, are they yours? If so, will you breed them?

Yes they are under my care. I have originally received them when they were 1 year old (just after metamorphosis) and have raised them since. They grew quite slow compared to normal Cynops p., and maybe they may breed this year (I hope). I'll see what arrives, but if they breed I'm going to be quite happy : I just have 1 couple (guess my luck receiving 2 and then it turns out they are a couple...). I'll keep you posted

Wow, those are some of the most unusual pyrrhogaster I've seen. They almost seem to have speckling like a high-white C. ensicauda popei.

Wow. Very interesting newts you have there. I can't say I've ever seen ones as different colored and textured as those. Very nice!

Well I'll keep you posted if ever I am breeding them. I sure will try

Hi Henk,
it seems I am colour blind as to me they don't look greenish ;-), brownish, olive etc, but green?
