I have FB Newts and FB Toads in seperate tanks of course.I was going to use Great Stuff to build a land area in there tanks as I have seen done on this site.My question is how long do I wait to make sure its safe to put the toads or newts back in?

There should be a curing time on the can..I would say its safe after the time (8 hrs I think). However, several things can affect how long it actually takes to cure, but if you're going to do some cutting or sanding you will know then if its done because it wont be mushy and will be able to be cut, etc. I used a tank the other day after only 8 hrs of cure time (I was in a huge hurry and it was an emergency). I would normally a have waited 2-3 days. I have never had a problem with anything dying, or becoming sick.

Ok.Thanks alot
any idea of the best kind of paint safe wise to use on the great stuff?

If it were me, I would try brown or black aquarium silicone sealant to cover it. You can also embed some rounded gravel onto the surface of the silicone if you like. I find this looks pretty good. (Note: I have never used silicone sealant over GreatStuff, so I don't know if it sticks well. If you try this, I'd suggest experimenting with it outside the tank first.)
