Gravel

I found some gravel it is vary small gravel - big sand size about 1/16 to 1/8 inch. Maybe 5 of sand stuck togeather. Do you guys think this would be ok? Thanks for your help

I don't have any gravel in with mine - I find it quicker and easier to clean without it; the Axolotls don't seem to mind

Hi Karrie,

Other people may disagree but I think that gravel is gravel and given the axies gulping style of eating ingestion is always a risk. If it is almost as fine as sand why not use sand?

Or as Phil says try no substrate. I have two tanks neither with substrate and have no troubles at all. It is also very easy to clean.

I want a color sand and this is purple. Went back and looked at it again. Looks like it is just color sand. So I went ahead and got it. It is smaller tham what I thought. I was going off what my mom said. I don't want a bare bottom tank.
