Hey everyone! I have a 10 gallon tank for my Marbled Salamander Brad, and it looks ind of bare! All I have is a larger plant and some terrarium moss. Does anyone know of any small plants I could plant around the tank? Thanks!

Hi,

In my terrariums I use:
dwarf mongo grass, looks like little clumps of grass, growing about 2-3 inches tall
pilea, baby tears, creeps across the ground, but will also grow up the sides of the tank, sending roots down anywhere and every where, both I got from esty.com "terrarium house". I also like reserrection fern, it grows around 4 inches tall, looking very much like a miniature fern, it will grow on the ground, but also makes a great background cover. The best price I have found for the size (about a sqaure foot) is again on esty.com "mr. nature". Both of these sellers I have dealt and can recommend based on my expereince.

There is also, any of the selaginella family, specifically, I have unumata or peacock spike moss, available at either Josh's frogs or also on etsy.com. Again creeps across the floor. I did get mine from Joshs frog, but found it cheaper on etsy.

I should add that the terrariums in which all of the above grow well for me have approximately 80% humidity.

I hope this helps.

I should have done this yesterday... better late than never

Here are pictures of my 10gallon bumblebee toad (m. stelzneri) tank showing the plants I listed above (dwarf mongo grass, spike moss, and baby tears). also in this tank are assorted mosses and a small fern.

A picture is worth a thousand words. I hope that these pictures help you visualize the plants.

Wow, your tank is beautiful! I'll definitely look into all of those plants and the website -- thank you so much for your help! I can't wait to get some plants in with my sal :)

If you would like I can send to you some clipping of each (except the mongo grass). I also forgot to mention "creeping jenny" another low creeping plant (available at most garden centers) and will spread like a weed, is very undemanding. Creeping Jenny, with decent lighting is highlighter yellow in color.

Wow, thanks for the offer!! Ive actually already picked up a few plants that you mentioned from a local store! Thank you very much for the help!
