This was taken a couple of days ago, he just didnt want to come out and play this eve.
However there was a certain little monster that just cant keep away from the camera...

Both handsome axolotls! Your Gomez always reminds me of Rho in your pics and from your description is very similar in personality too.

I feel guilty now for splitting them both up when I took Rho back to school, I know their not supposed to care but I could swear that Jim is pining after Rho. I almost want to get him another tank mate but then there wouldn't be enough room for Rho next summer. :-(

Haha I think Cunningham will just be his constantly wasted, off his face little friend (just like the real cunningham i named him after, such an animal!) you never know he might turn out to be a girl so could end up as his lovely lady friend! I was thinking he could be live the villain as his eyes look pretty evil but his personality is so cheeky he just wouldnt be able to pull it off! He's just a mental scallywag! Haha love that word!

p.s. I don't get the Cunningham reference, why the name (although it is cool)?

Awhhh I love your little smoked haddock so much! Do the golden axolotls get bigger than other types? Whenever I've seen one they've been huge!

I have a golden and it's about 18 cm... it's quite small I think and it's been like that since may or so... even when I feed it everyday a big juicy earthworm (now I cut to 2 or 3 every 2-3 days...)

I dunno if they get bigger than other axies (he's gonna have to try and out do gomez for size) RE: small goldie. I got him a couple of weeks ago, he was about 14-15cm but hes already 19cm he's growing quick! I think i am feeding him around the same as you but I feed him daily while he's still growing! il go to every other day feeding once he's about 8in or starts getting too fat and then twice weekly when he's fully grown! at this stage it seems the more they eat the more they grow! (and poop!)

And the cunningham thing hmmm...gotta explain this one.... I have a mate who is an absolute wreaker (anything he can get hold of!) his name is richard but he is very ginger so he's known as cunningham (richard cunningham = the ginger one from happy days!) and this axie is pretty much ginger (well, gold) and seeing as i named gomez after my mate carlos gomez i thought id name this one after one of my friends too! and so cunningham the axolotl was born!

Was gonna call him mac (short for mackrel) coz Erzs said the goldies look like smoked haddock but i couldnt find a name that goes into haddock and thought smoked mackrell looks the same all yellow and strange!

My golden is a real monster lol quickly dwarfed all my other axies even though he was third of the four.

Hi All,

I keep in touch with Ed, unfortunately he has very few opportunities to go on the internet and that is why I'm posting up here.

Sadly I have to inform you guys that Cunningham passed away.

For many weeks he was eating very infrequently if at all and then a week ago he started behaving erratically, gulping and spasming, he didn't make it through that night.

It would appear organ failure was the cause of death, probably genetic errors.

Gomez was sad in isolation for a few days as is clearly a social critter and so Ed has managed to source 2 new friends for him, Igor (a unique albino) and a wild type whos name I forget.

Hopefully Ed will be back soon with his new pets to fill us all in, I just thought I'd drop by and tell you the unfortunate news of this cute little golden who's time came a little early.
