Hello, im new to axolotls ive had my pair for 2 weeks maybe less, ive been feeding a mix of guppies and earth worms, but i dont have enough worms to feed them always and the guppies seem to be too small for them. My question is how can i know if the gold fish i buy are safe for my axolotls to eat and what could happen to my axolotls if they eat a goldfish with parasites?

That's a good question... Now I don't know much about using goldfish as feeder fish, but I do know that an extensive about of research on how to tell if goldfish have parasites OR where a goldfish breeder is. I really wish I could be more help. I honestly thing just do a **** ton of research on goldfish and goldfish breeders in your area.
Have an awesome day!

I personally don't use gold fish. I keep guppies and breed them to use as feeder treats. fish are not a good staple food . Most people recommend worms or pellets. How old are your axolotls

Feeding goldfish is not recommended as they can cause a thiamine deficiency. Also, goldfish may pick on the axolotls gills.

oh ok thanks guys, the problem of where im from its hard to buy worms or even pellets. My axolotls are 14 months old. also i just got some floating plants and my female axolotl dosent seem to move from the roots could she be about to lay eggs??!!
