Hi everybody! I received delivery of a gorgeous 1 inch axolotl baby today (from Billy James) and just want to show off how pretty he/she is. I have popped him in to his own little tank and he has settled in really well. He loves his frozen bloodworm too and looks like a little fatty after his meal tonight! I have yet to think of the perfect name for him/her but here he/she is.

Nice looking axolotl there! Seems like Billy James did a good job. How is the tank set up? Sand? Large rocks? Keep us updated. Makes wish I had a golden axolotl.

Yes, you are right.He/she is gorgeous.Very nice photos.

Very pretty, how about Oro or Dorado as name? :p Means gold and golden in spanish. Or maybe Gyllenhammar (common swedish lastname, kinda meaning golden hammer).

Thanks for the lovely comments everybody. Im just so happy because ive never owned a golden albino (or any albino for that matter) before. I currently have him/her in a 1ft tank with no substrate as its easier for me to clean it out. It doesnt have a filter so i'm just doing 100% water changes every other day.

Once he gets bigger I have a 2ft plastic tub that im going to pop him/her in. Will take him a while to reach my other 2 axies size, so he won't be going in the main tank for a while. lol. I'll be taking plenty more pics of the tiny monster so watch this space!

Claire.

I´m looking forward to the pics, because it´s such a pretty, little axie. I would call her/him twinkling star.:D

Bongo is a cute name. I like it.

Aww I quite like Bongo. I still dont have a name for the little critter. I think I might call him Bongo. Suits him really well! Ahhh little Bongo! hehe. He has grown sooo much over the last week. Almost doubled in size! Its amazing how fast they grow. I'll add more pics over the weekend of him and my other 2!

Claire.

Great looking golden, I want one

I like Bongo. If you still haven't decided, though, I like Hercules. ;]
I dunno why, but he/she looks like a Hercules to me. Ha.
:]

Edit: Actually, it's been a week since the last post, so you probably already named him. Oops.
=P

Well actually i named him/her Bongo, but then I came across Marmaduke (from the band Marmaduke Duke) which i think suits him/her alot more, so now the critter is called Marmaduke. It's probably more a male name but i think it will suit both male and female.

Thanks to all the lovely comments off everyone! I promise I will post some updated pics of the whole clan this weekend or sometime this week.

Claire.

WoW! I haven't seen a golden one look so orange before! Very pretty. Mine used to be a little bit brighter, but he got duller with age...still love him though. ^_^

Hi Mike, yeah he/she is doing great. He/she is almost 5 inches long now, he is catching the other 2 up really fast. Cant wait to get him into the main tank!

How is your little one doing?

Claire

He's fine. Still in his container, the poor sod, but he has a nice big tank which I suspect is almost cycled, ready and waiting for him!!
