Going away, how to feed little ones?

I've ten juvies, about two months old, most with back legs. They are all actively hunting and eating bloodworm, they get three blocks a day between them.

However, I'm going away for two nights and would rather not leave them without food. My thoughts are to put loads of daphnia in the tank with them to tide them over, but also some live bloodworm. Would these survive for a couple of days? Is there a better alternative?

They are in a well established 100l filtered and planted tank, it gets spot checked daily and a 50% water change every week am hoping that the water won't foul that quickly.

Any suggestions or concerns would be great, thank you!

I am no expert, but i have a bunch of little ones too, and i think that might be a good idea to add extra blood worms (not too much though to polute the tank) right before you leave and have live food living in there as well. If your using daphnia, dont be scared to add too much, (but im not saying add a ton lol) since they are also fresh water, so its not like your introducing loads of salt in.... i think thats what i would do, but maybe some one else knows better.. hope this helped!! and good luck

I think you are thinking right. Im sure they will be fine on just daphnia alone for two days as long as they have plenty to eat. Bloodworms may just foul the water so id refrain from that. Just do a nice water change, test the water and add the food right before you leave

Its scary leaving babies by themselves! It took me 4months before i would leave for more then 36hours! But i had no daphnia, which is a good alternative for somethinf that stays alive till they are eaten. I couldnt keep my babiesfed away from home

Cool, I'll just stick with daphnia and add a couple of blocks of defrosted bloodworm in the tank before I leave. Tried feeding them two blocks for dinner this evening, it all went in 20 mins! Not much chance of that having any affect on the water
Slightly worried about leaving them on their own, but they have always been slightly self sufficient as they were accidental egg transfers while moving plants around! They have spent their entire two months in that tank, was funny watching them swim around when it was packed full of daphnia. It's amazing how they are full of axie character, even as tadpoles!

Totally agree with the daphnia suggestion, even if they last longer than 2 days (if theyre not gobbled up!) it just means you have to feed then less when you come back

I just had to go away for 4 days and did the same thing, filled their tank with daphnia and live blood worms ( and filled tank right up with water to dilute the lack of cleaning too!) and they all did fine, not legs of gills lost too Only thing is if you have stones or plants in your tank the blood worms will go under them and hide from being eaten, daphnia don't hide
