Hey Guys, I've had my axolotl for a couple of months now and her gills are starting to point forward on one side, I've heard it can be stress but I'm not sure whats causing it. Any ideas?

if im not mistaken i think that the gills point forward because the waterflow is to strong. this is stressfull for the axies.\
hope i helped

Hi Jack,

As Stipe said, it is usually a sign of a stressed axolotol caused by the water flow being too strong.

Try turning down/buffering or moving your filteration system so that it does not move the water too much.

As a guide, look at your axie in their tank, if their gills are moving in the water then its too strong.

Also gills can turn forward when there is a bad water levels.

Thank guys
