Gills eaten up ...

Hm ... one of my axolotl got badly bitten by one of his mates ... Its front left leg is gone as well as 2/3 of his left gills.

I'm wondering if his/her gills will ever grow again

... anyone has an idea ?

Most of the time they grow back.

2 of my axolotls had parts of their gills and their legs bitten off when I received them. They all grew back.

You should watch for infection in or fungus growing on the wounds. You might want to give it some salt baths just to be safe.
