Just showing off some piccies of my favorite axi... with his spectacular gillage

Sorry there isn't a real face on shot... and other shots may be dodgy

First day I got him home... not the worst gill condition I've seen but still not great... and skinny too, nothing like how chubby he is now

and these are from today... doesn't he look great!!!

God they look amazing now! One of my newbies is starting to fill his gills out slowly so hoping it won't be long! the other fella doesn't seem to have much change but I think he is much, much younger

I've noticed too that their gills grow rather fast in ideal conditions, I think feeding and diet has a lot to do with it.

Mmmm thats true, I try to keep my water as best as I can. Plus I think I overfeed him a little bit... he does this thing where he gets on his back legs when I go near the tank... almost like he's saying "I'ma hungry... please feed me"... its so cute!!!
