My axies currently live in a ghetto tank. I finally got around to measuring it. It is some kind of plastic, it was a water holding tub of sorts at one time. Off blue color open on top except in the middle where I did not cut it out.

It is 84x48x24. Right now it houses 1.4 axies. The water stays nice and cool. So far this winter it has dropped to about 52-55ish. They are still thriving, eating, exploring and doing great. It has a lot of plastic plants plus java moss, pothos, etc. and a slate layers throughout the bottom.

Would I be able to add a couple more adult to the tank?

1.4 axolotls lol, Thats a pretty big tub, if those measurements are in inches that about 420 gallons. If you added two more(16 total) thats roughly 25 gallons an axolotl, so I would guess you could add a few more.

Is it possibly the same as reptiles - 1st number = male, 2nd number = female + if there's a 3rd number, it's unknown / unsexed.
My corn snakes are 3.0.2 + we THINK my axies are 0.3.0 (or 0.3)

Sorry if I'm being patronising - wasn't sure if you were being serious :p
Having said that, 1 did read it as 1 + 4/10s initially :D

BTW - Any photos? I keep imagining a giant water-butt kind of thing!!!

Sorry about that. Yes I did mean 1 male 4 females not 14 axies :)

I am suppose to be picking up 1.2 more this weekend and wanted to make sure I would have enough room.

Now no laughing at the "tank" it works awesome. Water changes are done with a drain on the side and in the basement it stays nice and cool even in the summer :)

Sorry for the dirty floor it was a busy weekend in the basement. Cleaner pics to come soon :)

Are the measurements in cm or in inch? Because it looks like cm (sorry if I'm wrong  but it looks small) and then it can house 2 axolotls maximum...

Okay, sorry then ;):D.
