Get-together in Denver

Monday night I had a get togeather of odd minds in Denver. Isaiah, Paris, Denver Dan and myself got togeather and feasted, drank some wine and talked of life and newts. Nothing formal, but a good time seem to have been had by all.

If only I lived a couple of hours closer to Denver

Where are the photos???

Sorry Jen, it wasn't a picture taking event type of thing. It was a elk steak (courtesy of Denver Dan's hunting prowess) crab legs, and wine drinking type of thing that fell togeather rather quickly. Isiah found out he was going to be in town, so I called Paris and Denver Dan on short notice and things fell togeather quickly. Wish you and your family could have made it. It was fun and the conversations ran the gammit from salamander breeding to child rearing and " What's your favorite movies?" type of thing. I just got back from drinks with Isaiah and he's headed back to Missouri tomorrow. Denver Dan could have a pretty significant announcement soon on the salamander front, but I won't tip his hand until I have permission to do so. Hint: it was something him and I were working on a few years back and it looks like he might finally have had some success.

A get-together in my own home town, and I don't even get an invite?! Just kidding, I manage to get back only once every couple years or so

Maybe we can arrange a get-together this summer, enough time in advance to that Jen could make the drive up from NM, maybe the Texan duo could come too, and anybody else would of course be more than welcome.

No elk for me though!

now why can't something like this happen on our side of the puddle?

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

sorry I am having a hard time trying to upload the pictures- I have them saved on my hard drive... any suggestions-the prompts here are not allowing for downloads that way as far as I can tell. Thanks
