BBS eggs are on ebay at good prices- I got a 100g of eggs for under $40. Then once they're a bit older, you can introduce them to blackworms, then bloodworms, pellets and earthworms. Blackworms are expensive (My 56 are going through approx. $5 worth a day), but I find they work excellently as a transitioning food between bbs and adult foods. Just be warned, you're looking at a few months before you start seeing eggs really advertised on the site- Midwinter seems to be the bulk of the breeding season (Unless you have an axie like my Molly who reacts to the weirdest things...). On the positive side, this gives you time to get together things like pippettes (100 for $3 on ebay- I strongly advise you get some),a large-mouthed turkey baster (Next to impossible to find at the moment) boxes (either tupperware/equivalent or takeaway boxes have worked well for me in the past), breed up some greenery (I have duckweed and java moss in with my babies to assist in oxygenation and waste processing between cleanings, and additionally to act as a hiding space for when they need time alone

, and to figure out the most temperature-stable zone of your house. Additionally, make sure that you can figure out a backup plan for housing/rehoming the babies when they grow up- From Molly's lot, there were 7 who stayed with me (Four planned, three whose potential owners' circumstances changed and couldn't take them), and for my current mob, I've got a pond which I'll be digging in and setting up just in case in the next few weeks in addition to consulting with my local aquarium (Who for the most part listen to me when I grumble at them

)
