Hi, I recently had an Axolotl rehomed to me. Wilson is a dark wild type Axolotl, roughly 2 years old, very healthy. He lived in a 10L fish bowl before I him and now I have moved him into a 50L tank.

Since being in the tank he has spat pellets out and showed no interest in bloodworms and Earthworms. In his Fishbowl, he used to happily eat pellets.

Is his new environment killing his appetite? What can I try? Should I just wait and see if he gets hungry enough to swallow the pellets?

Oh and his water temperature is always between 8*c and 15*c

He is sulking over the move. He'll perk up in a day or 2, he just needs time to adjust.

It might be that the temperature is to low, temperatures below 10-12*C will start to lower their metabolism. A healthy temperature should normally lie between 16-18*C  But the change in environment can also be the reason. When I got my latest rescue lotl she wouldn't eat for close to a week. So if the environment you keep it in is very different from the environment it came from, it might take a while for it to adjust.

I don't have any advice that hasn't previously been mentioned, but I'm just glad to know that he got out of his bowl! He'll be much happier :)
