Has anyone used Acriflavine to treat fungus in amphibians?

Silvadine cream is an excellent cream for terrestrial amphibians but it may require a visit to the vets to get it, i know it doe's in this country.

It's my impression that this drug is used to treat parasite infections and mild bacterial infections...but that it lacks antifungal activity. Are you treating a terrestrial or aquatic caudate? Hypertonic salt baths are often used for fungal infections in aquatic caudates. There are other alternative antifungals but most have to be prescribed by a vet.

Have you used or considered treating with salt baths? If you truly have a fungal infection you are trying to treat, using salt baths would be a reasonable first treatment approach. There are anecdotal accounts of acriflavine baths used in newts, but more as a 'shotgun' approach to infections of unknown pathogens: http://www.caudata.org/forum/messages/7/25318.html
Safety an efficacy are always questionable.

You may find review of these articles helpful in seeking treatment for your aquatic caudate:
