Hello
I recently got a pair of what I believe to be Salamandra Salamandra terrestris. The previous owner I'm guessing wasn't amazing as he didn't know what sub species (?) they were and the boxes felt like they were being kept warm.
Anyways, after i got them on Friday placed them in their setup and they ate a few worms and began to settle in etc but I was away now (Sunday) and I have found the male has developed a clearly visible fungus or wound between one of his legs and body which must have been smaller or hadn't formed on Friday although I noticed he was moving in rapid bursts quite erratically before burying himself in the hide. He is eating well but can not move his infected leg very well and stays inside his hide. The tank is outdoors at the temperature stays between about 14-22 degrees Celsius.
I have moved the female after inspecting her well and she seems to show no signs of the fungus to my lone male S.s.salamamdra's tank which is not ideal but i do not have a spare terrestrial setup.
So do i need to give him salt baths? What is the recommended salt to water ratio? A picture should be included in the post or is in my Fire Salamander album.

Thanks for any help

It looks more like a wound than fungus to me? It might be worth trying neosporin ointment (the one without anesthetic) and maybe the salt baths twice a day, just in case it is a fungal infection? Maybe someone more experienced with terrestrial salamanders will chime in with a better option?
