Based on what I see on these drawings is a hydra, a small animal that is a relative of the anenome and jelly fish. They probaly came in on plants or if you catch wild food for newts in a pond. As they stay incredibly small and stinging cells are only meant to capture microscopic animals, they are relatively harmless in an aquarium in small numbers, in fact, they may capture small parasites living in the water.

However, if you plan to breed your newts/salamanders, they may harm the larvae and eat small live food. Also, since there are no predators to hydra in a aquarium, they can multiply rapidly and become a pest which may pester caudates. THe one solution I do know of is to take all of the animals out and raise the water temperature to 104 degrees farenheit, this will kill the hyrda (although plants will be fine).

I would go ahead and get rid of them since they do multiply rapidly.

it does not look like hydra~
more like an umbrella flipped over with many legs like 6 to 8~

I once had them in my guppy tank. Don't know where I came from. I never used pond water or something. I didn't knew what they were for a while and I tried to wipe them off etc. But they grow back.
I've read something about a copper treatment, but copper is a big NO for axies so if you see anything like that on the internet, please don't do it.

The hydra in my tank attacked (stinged) my baby guppies but the bigger ones were fine. Suddenly they were gone...
It might have been the solution with Levamisole and Praziquantel to treat some worms with. It also says it works for planaria and hydra too. Maybe a solution when raising the temp. doesn't work.

To eliminate hydra you can use a product called no planeria, it is safe for for everything but hydra, snails and planeria, doesn't affect shrimp.

When I compare the picture, the body is really short compare to legs~
It is only attached to the walls of my tank.

so Planaria solution will resolve this to go away??
