Hi there. Our axolotl, Edgy, started showing signs of fungus (or other infection) a week ago along his back fin. He now also has a head wound, which we honestly aren't sure if it was there when the infection started or not. We have been giving him tea baths with decaffeinated black tea for a week now. The infection is not getting worse, but it's not getting better. The head wound is looking worse. I've attached some images below.
Edgy is 4 years old, and due to excessive inbreeding (got him from a sketchy pet store in providence, has gfp so some of his ancestors were actively used for research) he is only about 6 inches long and will not gain weight even though we are feeding him earthworms every two to three days. Behavior-wise, he's been his normal self. No lethargy at all, still tries to swim through the glass of his tank whenever we come into the room. We've also got him in a tupperware quarantined in his regular tank for temperature control (also pictured), which we are changing daily while he takes his tea bath. We've tried contacting exotic vets in the area and are waiting for them to get back to us. Mostly, we're looking for advice on the head wound, and if we should continue with the tea baths or switch to a more aggressive form of treatment.
Thanks so much.

Hey everyone, just want a little advice. Its 55 - 60 celcius in my Salamanders tank. Hes curled up and tyring ti bury himself, Im assuming hes too cold. I was wondering if he would benefit from a heated rock cave (since he LOVES his cave) that I could set on low? I NEVER see him curled up and trying to bury himself unless his tank sits at 63 degrees celcius or lower. So I am assuming hes a little uncomfortable.

He also seems a little sluggish, again, assuming hes cold. Having heating trouble with the new house right now. What do we think? Was thinking of grabbing this for him since its got very low, medium, and higher medium heat settings that exude heat downward inside the rock cave but ALSO exudes it UPWARDS outside of the rock cave, effectively keeping the tank itself a little warm. Seems like it miiiight be a little small for him though, my guy is about 7 inches from tip of his nose tothe tip of his tail.
