Would it be okay to feed Fire Salamanders frozen red mosquito larvae?

If you can get them to eat it then go for it. Just remember, bloodworms are only good as a treat though.

I completely agree. Use them if they accept them, but only if they are a small part of a varied, healthy diet. They can lead to severe dietary deficiencies if you use them as an staple.

Beware of offering them if you have soil in the tank. It gets stuck to the bloodworms and eaten...definitely not good. Watch out for that.

Has anyone gotten their fire sals to eat frozen. Mine only eat live earthworms, crix, or fruitflies. Anything not moving will not be eaten.

I only had S.salamandra, once, for a very short time after they were given to me (long story) and even though i still think they were WC(or LTC), they ate frozen bloodworms like crazy (which was brilliant since i had little else to offer at the time). The adult one would eat half a cube in one bite.
Hand-feeding can take some time to work, but it´s not difficult to get to that point...most animals just require a few failed attempts until they accept it. It is very handy to have your animals used to hand-feeding but if you can offer lots of live foods, then there´s no much point in offering dead foods really.

My juveniles will eat them but only if they are on moistened paper towels.
