Can I use frozen baby brine shrimp instead of live for my soon-to-be baby axolotls? I have already started a brine shrimp culture, but I fear that the eggs may hatch before I can get the culture properly working. I have also heard of several breeders that only use frozen baby brine shrimp. Can this work? It would be much easier than having to raise my own!

Newly hatched axolotls hunt by sight only, not smell, so non-moving prey won't work unfortunately. However, baby axolotls don't eat straight away, as they are absorbing theire yolks, so that'll give you extra time for your culture ;)
Here's a good page to have a read of, if you're expecting to have little mouths to feed - Axolotls - Rearing from Egg to Adult

I have heard of people using sponge filters / air stones to try to get thawed foods to move about in the water, but I haven't heard of this being successful, thoug hI could be wrong.

Thanks. I talked to the guy who told me about this and he said that if you have an air stone it moves the brine shrimp around so they find it that way.
