i did a search on here and it seems no one has commented on the movie/anime Spirited Away! its a great flick if you are into anime at all, but anyway, it features a cameo by a fried newt. sick. just thought i'd share.

ahh i did-about more than a year ago-id have to look it up, but yes we started a comment section on it, also someone recently mentioned it here

strange. i did a search for "spirited away" on the forums, found nothing. now, when i do it, both this thread and the archived one you brought up came up in the results.

and yes, roasted newt. i couldnt remember. have only seen it once [recently] and my short term memory isnt the best.

Actually Salamanders/newts have appeared in a couple of Miyazaki's films (Spirited Away's director). There's a scene in Princess Mononoke where you can spot a Japanese Giant Salamander.

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
