Hi Francesco !

Are you looking for books about reptiles and amphibians living in France ? But in which language ? Because there is several books in french. I can search the list for you. In english, I have to check that.

But you can try a very good book in french about the french newts and salamanders :

"Les Salamandres et les Tritons",
of Philippe Geniez and Pierre Grillet
Editions "Atlas Visuels PAYOT Lausanne"
1990

It's a good one. Now I'm looking for others books and I inform you ASAP !

Marie-Sophie

this one looks quite recent. Is it a good book?

Yes! It is very nice in it's illustrations and pictures. But make sure you get the version with the CD, it costs 5 euro extra but it is worth it!!!

  • Katia Del Rio-Tsonis:
Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
