Found Some Salamanders - Can't keep them...

I was cleaning out two of my window wells of all the dead leaves and debris, and in one window well I found 3 good sized salamanders, and in the other, a quite large salamander... now that they have no cover, I don't think they will survive. If there's anyone in the Salt Lake City area that's could provide a good home for them, contact me: aaron@aaronoz.com.

Otherwise some ideas for what I can do with them would be appreciated! There's a small stream near my home, but I don't think there's enough ground cover for them there.

Thanks for any advice/help... quickly I hope

Do you know what kind they are or could you describe or post pics. I am not near you but if I am interested in getting them I will pay shipping. Are they larva or adults.

Thanks!!

I'll see about getting some pics. I'm sure these aren't very exotic at all. They are very dark in color too. Sorry, I know just enough about these guys to believe them to be Salamanders... I think ;)

Anyway, I know very little about em, but one of them is probably close to 6" long from nose to end of tail. They move fairly fast too. One thing I don't understand is that this is UTAH! We have 20% humidity, and currently are experiencing near 100 degree days, and 75 degree nights!

I feel bad that I ruined their home, but the wife was complaining about those window wells ;)

I hope that I can keep them comfortable until a suitable new home can be found. For now I just wet some newspaper and put it down there. They immediatly crawled under it... hopefully that's what they need. I'll make sure to keep the newspaper wet, and if anyone else has any thoughts let me know.

BTW - Since I'm sure that these aren't very exotic, I would be more than happy to pay to ship 'em to an environment where they can live comfortably. How would you ship these guys anyway?

They're tiger salamanders. I just moved from Sugarhouse last summer. Take them up one of the canyons and you can let them do in one of the creeks. They'll find a good burrow on there own.
