Well I took in about 8 salamander larvae today and I'm trying very hard to raise them successfully. I looked in the FAQ but saw nothing about raising the larvae. Any help would be absolutely fantastic!

Right now I have them in room temp water (dechlorinate tap water) with a cube of freeze dried tubiflexworms. And they have an air stone

It's certainly in the FAQ. Look under "Scientific and Reproductive"
http://www.caudata.org/cc/faq/faq.shtml
That will refer you to articles about rearing and microfoods. Salamander larvae usually refuse to eat non-live food. Unless you can get live blackworms, or other live food, you might want to consider putting the larvae back where you found them.

Well the freeze dried worms were just to tide them over. They seem to nibble at them...

I'm going to try and get some live micro food for them very soon. I hope to get brine shrimp eggs and possibly black worms. I'm speculating they might be mudpuppies, but they don't have stripes. It's so hard to tell when they are so little.

could they just use washed BBS from a pet shop kit?

I´ve just had a small peek at that site, but as far as i´ve read, their information is not top-notch...in fact in just a few seconds i´ve seen lots of mistakes and some very misinformed opinions...There also seems to be some valuable information...but i would use it very carefully...

Well I'm going to find some BBS. The 8 are doing well right now but I'm going to change their setup to something more roomy. They are eating the tubiflex worms and seeming to adapt nicely. The largest one is about an inch long, so they are small little guys and gals. Thanks for the links to articles. THey were helpful, but I know to shop around for information before I stick with the advice. I just wondered if anyone here had some hands on experience. I'm following a mixture of several sources at the moment and would like some first hand help if at all possible.

To update...they are doing very well so far. One of the little ones got his tail tip nipped off so I put more hiding places in there in the form of pothos. Thanks for all your help. I will keep you all updated on their progress.
