I know that this questions has probably come up before but I will ask anyways. We were away for the weekend and today when we came home we discovered about 100-200eggs or maybe even more in our tank. I have read from some of the posts that they should be separated from the big axolotls, is this really necessery and why? will they really get eaten? We have a big 180L tank where they are with 2mature and 1 slightlu younger axie who we suspect to be the mother. We have another 45L tank but it has cupies and cherry-shrimps in it, will it be okei to but them there or will the fish or shrimps eat them?
We have also a really small 9L container so we could put some of them there but we have noticed that the water goes bad quickly, maybe this was only so with a fish and will not be with small axie eggs, I do not know how it will be once they have hatched? And how many eggs would be okei to put into such a small tank?
Please help! The eggs are about 2 days old I think :)

Can somebody please help! I am not sure into what I can and should separate the eggs? Any suggestions? Is it okei to separate them into separate places? Like bowls ect?

I kept about twenty of my eggs to raise just put all the eggs into a take away container, with declorinated water, and when they hatched I found it easier to move the eggs to a new container and just change the water in the babies one everyday. You don't need to change the water in the eggs container, but unless your new little hatchlings are going into a filtered tank, then any Tupperware/ take away tub is fine just do 100% changes daily.:D

Oh and if you leave the eggs to hatch in the tank with mum and pop, they will hunt them all down and eat them. They don't seem to like to eat them till they have hatched though. (mine tried once the eggs got thatching size but spat them out again.so yeah if you want to keep some then take the eggs or mum and pop out.
