Well my little golden that had the parasite/fungus problem is all done with his treatment and the parasites are gone and the wounds have completly healed up. He was doing good but hasn't eaten for the last 2 days. He seemed to be constipated and took 3 poos in one night. The poo was really loose and messy and ever since he will not eat. I have tried bloodworms, frozen beefheart, redworms, nightcrawlers, and I can't think of anything else. This is probably a type of side effect from the medication but he is now in a plastic bowl for the time being. The meds he had to have are called Fluke-Tabs. Anyone have any suggestions? I'll probably end up putting him in the fridge tonight.

Grant, I have had a few surgeries and after I have had them, I usually get really sick if I eat anything. It is usually the same with animals after they have experienced something like that. Two days I think is ok. Just keep monitoring him and keep offering him tid bits of food. Maybe just offer him small food rather than meals. I think this will help, hope it does ^_^

Yea that's what I've been doing. His gills look very healthy and are functioning well. He is still moving around. I think he must just be stressed from the whole experience.

Ok now it has been about a week and he still hasn't eaten a thing. He was in the fridge for 4 days and has been out for 2. I know that being in the fridge slows his metabolism so he may not want to eat while in there. He hasn't poo'd or anything. I have tried feeding him everything imaginable but with no success. His gills and coloring look normal and he is active and seems perfectly fine except he looks a little thin/sucked in on the sides. Does anyone have any advice at all? I'm desperate for help.

Grant - I looked up the drugs that are in the fluke tabs and one of the possible side effects is abdominal distress. Maybe it just needs more time.

Have you tried a small sliver of fish fillet?

No thats wat my girlfriend was telling me to get. I'll try that tonight and hopefully that will work. But I was just thinking I might try to feed him one of my smaller guppy babies (my home grown guppies). They're always having guppies and I have about 10 babies that would be a good size for him. But my axies favorite food by far is beefheart (they only get half a cube each every 2 months). I tried feeding him this but he refused : (. I'll also try the fish if the guppy doesn't work.

I know that a friend of mine have axies who didn´t eat for almost 2 months , and they did great.

Yea but this is a really young axolotl. He is barely 5 inches long and really thin.

try something that piss him off like live daphnia, that are always biting axies

Ok I finally got him to eat. I put in a baby guppy. He didn't eat it after a day and a half so I thought it might be because its to fast for him. So I had to kind of break the guppies tail fin and as soon as I put him in he ate him! Poor little guppy but I had to do it for the axie. Hopefully he will start eating now that he's got started.
