Fluval 2 filter

hi just wanting to know if any one has one of these filters (Fluval 2 filter) i was going to have one in my 3 foot tank. i have see the product info and noticed it had an air control valve on it does that mean it could have an air stone put on it ?

i beleive it would be where you can attatch an air line and pump to it which will push air into the outlet creating lots of tiny bubbles in the stream (sorry about the low tech words lol), the control valve would probably just regulate the amount of air that goes into and comes out of the pump.

I have never used the "air intake" with a submersible filter, but my worry about them is that they might produce too many ultra-tiny bubbles, saturating the water with too many bubbles. In other words, I would worry about gas bubble disease. But I may be wrong about this being a risk.

I understand it now i went out and brought one all i need to get next will be an air pump, and will be ready to start looking for a little Leucistic

my filter is like yours but i dont need an air pump. i just attatch the tubing to the filter and as long as the end of the tubing is out of the water and the filter is submerged completly in the water it will work. im not sure if the same applys for your filter but you should give it a try or you might be wasting money on a air pump.

Alex D is right , you do not need an additional air pump , the filter will come ready with any mods needed to put bubbles in the water, I had a Fluval 3+ in my fish tank for a while and had the bubbles working.

i tried that with two of my big internals (1000lph, and 2000lph), you attatched the little tubing which had a black end and put that above the water and it was supposed to suck air in but it never did

i didnt want the bubbles anyway, i was just playing around with it when i got it.
