I'm gonna change the floor of my baby axoltl's tank as I dont like it in fact I hate it so I was wondering if I should get fine sand or small stones???

small stones (gravel) are a definite NO-NO because your axie can swallow them, getting impacted and die.

Sand is the best substrate for axies, just be sure the granules are smaller than 2mm in diameter.
:) And wash THOROUGHLY before use :D

With axolotls under 10ish cm, I wouldn't use any substrate at all. It's easier to monitor their ins and outs that way.

I would agree having a bare as possible tank with lil guys makes it way easy to monitor food and waste.
