what is safest fish or any other aquatic creature to have with axolotl

and also is it okay to have 2 axolotls in a tank, I go on vacation pretty often so they might not be fed for a week or so from time to time

I would suggest White Cloud Mountain Minnows. They are small (max around 1.5 inches), fast, schooling, low bio-load, and prefer cooler water, like the axolotl. They also tend to hang out in the middle to top of the tank.

river/ghost shrimp, mollies, guppies, platty's.
shrimp tend to be the cheapest and will also clean the tank.

Yes, it's Ok to have 2, or 3, (or more...) providing your tank is gig enough and there are enough hides for all of them.
Another condition is that they are approximately the same size.
