I know this is a place for axolotls but I am having a problem with my fish tank. Last night my tank was normal then this morning I woke up an there is what appears to be a fine white powder on all of the tank's walls and two guppies dead. I just got done treating the same tank for fungus so I did a large water change and added a few new guppies since it was gone. The way I figure is it could be: A-The powder is some white dust from the sand and the dead guppies just died from the transition to a new tank, or B-I have a problem

The fungus treatment probably messed up your biofilter (killed your beneficial bacteria). I would give the tank a longer time to recover before adding more fish.

Post some pictures, depends on what the white power looking substance is. You probably have crashed your cycle

^ Agree with Jen on not adding any fish until the tank is safe.

Can you test your waters parameters ?

I'm really not sure what it was, I tested the water right after they died because that's what I thought but everything showed as being normal. What I ended up doing it putting all of my fish in buckets and had to totally reset and scrub down the whole tank then putting them in after it had started for a few days so it has to cycle again. Since doing that I haven't lost any fish. I will keep a very close eye on the parameters for the water for the next few weeks.

oh and I forgot to mention that the reason I took the fish out is because a few of my original fish died
