My axolotls laid eggs yesterday, but I was wondering if I should run a filter in the water. I've got a small airstone running lightly, so I don't want to add to much current. The eggs are the only thing in the tank, so I can't imagine the water will contaminate easily.

If you want to use a filter, get one of those sponge-air driven ones.

It will still oxygenate the water as much as before and not suck the eggs or fry into it.

And you can control the strength of it with a valve in the air line tubing. :talker:

Do I really need a filter? The eggs are the only things inhabiting the tank.

No, you don't need a filter.

Good luck with your eggs, first time is always fun
