Hi, this is my first post, on this forum.
I've decided to get an Axolotl. Done quite a bit of research, bought the gear (had a lot anyway, having kept fish for several years)...just cant find one.
Anyone know where I could source an Axolotl, near Hampshire, UK?
Thanks

Perhaps you should ask in the correct area of the forum? The "Wanted" topic.

John, thanks for your reply. Perhaps your right, maybe I should use "Wanted" forum "Species Wanted, Items Sold" but there seems to be no obvious way of starting a new thread, maybe because the board is closed! (New threads not accepted on this page).
So if you dont mind, I'll keep the post here, maybe somone can help.

You have to click on the section that pertains to where you're from - UK, USA, International, etc. and then you can post in there.

Anthony, thanks, I'll give maindenhead aqautics a call

Dot, thanks for the tip. I didnt notice it.

I went to Maidenhead aquatics and they had 2 Axys, we bought 1. Im concerned out the welfare of the other. The tank has a really strong water flow, no gravel, no protection. The Axys were sliding from one end to the other. Their gills were forward which I understand means stressed. I bought the biggest one. I pointed out that the water flow was too strong, but they couldnt really care less. I dont want to think of what will happen to the 1 remaining Axy. It had virtually no gills left because they'd been eaten. And before you ask, why didnt I buy it. Thats because my setup is only big enough for one.

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

sorry I am having a hard time trying to upload the pictures- I have them saved on my hard drive... any suggestions-the prompts here are not allowing for downloads that way as far as I can tell. Thanks
