Just thought I'd let everyone know I've had two successful morphs from my 6 larvae. Wont take food yet but seem to be happy and healthy.
I have removed the morphs from the larvae tank, I'm terrified they'll drown.
The two juvies are 4cm long (one being a mil or so bigger), should I be worried they have morphed this small?

I'm so happy! :D

Congratulations!!!
That size is perfectly normal. In fact they can morph smaller, so good job!
Give them a couple of days of total piece and quiet, and then try feeding. Don´t be surprised if they refuse to eat for a few days. Remember, at first, only live foods will get any atention. You can train them to feed from the tweezers later on.

By the way, we expect pictures :p xDD

A few pics of my new babies and their home ^___^

Sorry about picture quality, as I use my phone's camera I find it really hard to get it to focus on the newt itself.

I'm proud to announce I have 4 healthy juveniles now and two larvae left with receding gills :D

Lovely pictures, and I like your set-up. Looks very natural. I hope I have the same success with my 3 FBN larvae.

Nice one! You've done well to get them to morph at such a good size. Hopefully they will start feeding for you soon. It might be worth giving them some smaller hiding places, which are lower to the ground so they can feel more secure. A piece of bark or flat piece of stone propped up by about 1cm at one end would work well.

4 cm is a great size! My Juvenile has been morphed for a while now (I don't know how long tbh :D) and he's only 4 and a half cm long!

But for some reason he sits extremely close to the water now, does this mean he's going to be aquatic soon?

Cheers
Zac

Yours are a different species Zac.
C.orientalis usually morphs smaller...the mean being about 3-3,5 cm long. C.pyrrhogaster seems to morph slightly bigger on average (although as always, morphing size extremely variable and dependent on diet, temp, housing...).
