I have recently moved my first ever caudata which I've had for 3 years, my Chinese firebellied newt, into a new tank. He has been in there for about 3 days but although my many attempts he is just not interested, can anyone please help me out?

Give him time, the move may well have been quite stressful for him. Could you add a photo of his new home so we can see :D

Yup id say give him time also,he needs to explore and feel at home before devouring his food, dont worry im sure he will get back to normal asap

Don't worry, he's probably just really stressed by the moving process. Remember newts can go weeks or more without food before it gets to be a real problem. One of my newts refused to get in the water for a week after i bought him. He was in danger of drying up so I'd have to mist him every now and then. Eventually he just jumped in the water to hunt for worms on the tank bottom and he's been fully aquatic and a ravenous eater since!

Also people say that newts dont mind being solitary, but my two terrestrial newts weren't eating until i introduced three more from the same shop one week later. As soon as the other newts hit the water, the two jumped in to greet them, and one stayed aquatic since then. The other was the aformentioned newt who is now fully aquatic as well. Hope this helps! :)
