Hi guys,

So I have, or rather had! 3 firebelly newts. I knew I had 2 males and a female but I never tried to breed them and I thought I didn't really have the proper conditions to make them want to breed but uh.... I woke up this morning to feed the 2 tiny fish I have in there and I saw miniature replicas of my big ones, with funny frills on their heads!

They must have been there a while because some of them already have 2 to 4 legs.... I know they will eventually want to live on the surface but all I have in there is a turtle floating island glued to the side... I don't have space to get another tank and I never looked into breeding them so I am a little amazed/lost/confused/happy about what's going on.

Anyone can give me any helpful advice please?! As much as I didn't look into having baby newts... I don't want to cause any arm either...

But what if I leave them in the tank, they will just stay at the bottom and eventually drown? Or will they try to reach the surface and then I can see what to do?

Well, that was helpful =) I will just let them be, see what happens...

I mean for them to get to that stage means they can already get food for themselves what ever it is! Eggs and baby pound snails (my tank curse!), the powdered fish flakes I give the 2 little guys or maybe even the frozen blooworms and tubiblex the big guys get???

Plus I have A LOT of plants, including A LOT of floating plants, so according the the readings you gave me, they should be fine =)

Thank you so much! If anyone has more advises I will keep reading =)
