Pet store S.salamandra are most likely WC, which makes them a very bad choice for a beginner, since they usually fall ill or die. Also, WC Salamandra are illegally caught in europe, and buying them promotes this activity.
I strongly advice/beg that you forget about pet-shop Salamandra, and find some nice, healthy CB ones from breeder.
okay, Thanks definitely no pet stores. I was only going to get captive bred in the first place and the guy said most of them are captive bred. Anyways I found a seller with captive bred here in the U.S. so im going to buy from him.
If he is a public breeder do you mind posting some information about him and what kind of price he is charging. I am mainly curious, but others might be wish to find some as well.
Mmmmm...all the pictures are of adults and he claims to be selling CB adults, and there is no mention of subspecies...very suspicious indeed.
I´m not well informed in the US market but i think S.salamandra juveniles are rather expensive, and you´d expect adults to be vailable for higher prices...since the price of these adults appears to be close to that of the juveniles and the web also acts as a retailer, i´d say they are most likely WC.
