Fire belly newt or something else?

I just bought this newt from a pet store. Sold to me as a fire belly newt. This is my first newt. It looks different then the photos on the internet. Is this a fire belly? Japanese or chinese or another species? any help appreciated. Ive attached two photos.

I am no expert but I had one that looked a lot like your picture and I think it is a warty newt. See this thread:

These are very aquatic animals but please don't make the mistake I did. I had mine in with a bunch of tropical fish in a 30 gallon. Worked out well for a few years until one day...

I think it was the 6 inch long Raphael catfish that went in for the kill...

I think your right Devalight. I found some pics of a warty newt looks very similar to mine. Thank you for the help.

Paramesotriton for sure, and most likely P.chinensis.

Very different in size and temperament than H.orientalis. You can find lot of info about these guys around the forums.
