Hi. I have another thread where I showed the problem I've had with my newt where she started getting grey/white small spots/areas on her body. She has gotten more of those.
I did manage to get her to gain weight again by changing her food.
My biggest issue right now is when I feed her she always swims around nervously after she's been fed. It looks like she is very uncomfortable and I feel so bad for her. As I mentioned in my other thread I have no good vets around when it comes to amphibians. What do I do? I feel like she is suffering even though it's hard to tell for sure.
Any input would be great, I have no idea how to handle this. I understand it's difficult for you to say if she's suffering or not, but if she is, what would you do? Obviously I have been thinking about putting her down since I don't want her to suffer anymore.

Thank you

Maybe it would be worth posting some more pics if the problem has worsened? Some of my firebellies will swim around seemingly directionless at feeding time and bolt right after grabbing some food. I think it's to stop any of the other newts stealing their tea from right out of their mouth.
If you really think there's nothing you can do maybe this article will help. It seems a shame, though.

I've seen her swim fast and more ''carelessly'' before but the way she does it after feeding now (after she has swallowed the food) is almost like squirming and like she can't be still. She truly does look uncomfortable to me.

I've taken some pictures of her now, but the camera picked it up pretty badly unfortunately. Those brighter spots on her body if you can see them look worse IRL. She also has shed skin stuck on one of her front feet that you can see in that picture, she often does.

Euthanizing her is of course the last resort and something I would like to avoid, it's just something that comes to mind when you see them suffer too much for too long. The biggest problem is I don't know if or how much she actually is suffering.
Thank you for taking the time!
