Stewart, I'm wondering about that plant (the variegated one the axies are sitting on). How long have you had it? We have a plant like that, called aluminum plant, but I didn't know it could grow under water, if in fact it's the same thing.

I have also bought this plant and it was called aluminum plant. It didnt last long, I'm pretty sure its not a water plant, my mum has it growing as pot plants in the back yard

Yep, I found the answer to my own question (about aluminum plant) quite by accident on this site:

It is sometimes sold as an aquatic plant, but isn't. I have grown it with just the roots in water, and it lived a long time. Underwater I suspect it won't last long.

I have those plant in there for about a month.
I used to have one that was there for 5 months
