Heya,
I have 2 gold axolotls in a 60cm aquaria hold about 60L of water, and until recently I have minimised water movement by relying n frequent water changes. The axolotls have remained generally sedentary, however as the tank aged it was harder to keep the water clear through water changes alone,so i bought a small internal filter, and have directed the water up and against the glass to disperse the flow so as not to stress/exhaust the axolotls.
I have noticed straight away that there is definite change of activity. Both axolotls are swimming in mid water up and down the length of the tank. I only find this strange because they never used to do this - and I am not sure whether this behaviour is a positive or a negative sign.
Does anyone have comments on this change of behaviour?
Regards in advance.
