Hello, I'm wondering what would be the best type of filter for a 25 gal tank that will be housing about 3 Tiger Larvae...From some of the reading i understand that too much current can be a problem....I'm looking for suggestions and experiences with specific models/brands...Thanks

Honestly I wouldn't even bother with a filter since they won't remain larval for much longer. Just get some plants, do two or three water changes a week and that should suffice until they morph.

Thanks for the reply...Question about water changes..Should I use a water softener with tap water.....Use rain water if possible?

Dechlorinated and aged cycled water would be best. Lost of plants and depending how young the larva are a filter wouldn't hurt. I'd even put a bubbler in there, it wound't hurt only help. Is this a animal you pruchased at a pet store? Collected?

Hi, last week on a hike in the woods with my kids I visited the vernal pool that's been there since my childhood and it still has a healthy population of frogs, salamanders, etc....The pond was full of egg masses so I took a few in hopes that I somehow took some tiger eggs as opposed to frog..(never can tell them apart)..Anyways, I anticipate having a hundreds of larvae here in the coming weeks. I plan to keep as many as I can house and return the rest to the pool. How many of these guys can I keep in a 25 gal tank before overcrowding becomes a problem??
