I have two spanish ribbed newts and when i feed them they attack each other. The dimensions of the tank they are in is roughly 3ft x 2ft x 1ft.

Can anyone advise me on the following:

Is my tank big enough?

How do i stop them from attacking each other?

Cheers

I've had accidental biting of limbs with my fire bellied newts and was advised to tweezer feed them to avoid this. Is that a possibility? What about separating them during feeding?

Yeah i could try seperating them. I nomally defrost some blood worm and pour it into the tank. The tweezer idea was a good one. Im not sure feeding them frozen food would be good for them though?

Cheers for your help.

Frozen food is absolutely fine, the only reason my and my boyfriend don't use frozen is because we can't get it home before it defrosts.

The tank sounds big enough. If you want to feed frozen food and avoid having them eat each other, you should provide two separate feeding areas. I use terracotta saucers (for plant pots), some people serve defrosted bloodworms in jars laid on their sides. You will probably have to maneuvre each newt into the correct place when you feed. I don't know if you also feed earthworms (you should, they are very nutritious) but if you do, try to put the newts far away from each other and then tweezer feed each one.
