Most light axolotls get dark toe tips, and the dark ones lighter toe tips.
This is not because a gender or another, it just indicates that your axie COULD be getting mature now.
yep I would say thats a girl too, and a nice fat one at that . In the futue things to look out for are:
*the shape of the head - girls typically have a shorter broader head than males
*width of the abdomen - girls are sometimes noticalby fat; however that is not always the case.
*length of tail - males have a longer tail whereas females normally have shorter ones
*and the size of the cloacal glands behind the rear legs - males' cloaca are usually considerably more swolen
I though my male was a female for the same reason, he is a light axie and developed dark toes so we assumed he was a girl. The only real factor that is definate is the cloaca, If it is bigger, assume male. lots of males i have seen have very wide heads, my males head is much wider than my females of the same age, also why we thought he was a girl. He definatley has man bits though, they are quite prominant. I think the rest must be down to genetics. I would agree with the others, from the cloaca your axie looks like a girl
Both of my axie's were from the same tank, not sure if they are related so will have to wait and see, I don't really want them to lay eggs although I keep feeling that she might as she isn't eating much at all.
