I have a tank that has a seperator with one male, one female on one side and a female who has bred many times onthe other side. I thought she needed a break, so she is by herself on one side of the tank. Despite this, i found her laying eggs this morning! Is it normal for certain females to lay clutches without being housed with a male? The clutch is smaller number than normal, and i expect it is infertile, but its not outside the realm of possibility that the male somehow got to the other side. Its a homemade divider, so its not exactly the great wall of china.

It's possible for them to lay infertile eggs. But aside from housing them across the room from each other, where there's a will, there's a way!
