One of my C. pyrrhogaster females has a slightly odd looking cloaca now - more protruding and the edges have a kind of translucent whitish colour, . What does this mean? I can't find anything about this anywhere (on this website or the internet).
One of the males has been quite keen to breed for a few weeks now so I wonder what this could mean...?
The fourth photo is of the other female for comparison.
Thanks for your help!

looks like your female is also in breeding behaviour. Is she also interested in the male's avances?

I'm not sure... I think sometimes she lets him court her a bit. He's been pestering both females but only this one (the bigger one) looks like this. I have to say it worries me that they might breed - I'm a complete beginner and have only had these guys since May. They were tiny and terrestrial when I got them so they're quite young.

Congratulations you have an adult female! xD
My biggest female is also mature (well, she became mature some time ago) and looks just like that. I don´t want to crush your hopes, but you should know that this doesn´t mean she will necessarily breed. She may breed, but then again the majority of the eggs might be duds.
I quite like your posts about your pyrrhogaster hehe, my group is more or less in the same stage as yours, and they too look fat and happy :)

No hopes crushed, Azhael, I'm really not ready to be raising newt kids :)

you can give the eggs away to someone who does like to raise them

I know that's a possibility but at the moment I'll be quite happy if the newts postpone breeding
Thanks!
